Why don't we have enough courage and rights to speak up against the wrong doings of the people running our esteemed country? Why the people in the top echelons of our country can do whatever they want to even if it is not in the interest of the country? Why isn’t there any transparent system even though we are the so called largest democracy in the world? Democracy means ‘Government of the people, by the people, for the people’ but neither it’s the government of the people nor for the people. It is there just because the power is in their hands and no one can do any harm to them.
On what basis the people in the parliament are being chosen and on what basis they are being appointed the cabinet ministers? Mr. A Raja, our honourable Communications and Information Technology minister is an advocate by profession. Do you think on any grounds he should have been chosen for this post, why not a person from the technical background has been assigned to this position? Because it doesn’t matter how much you are qualified or competent enough, the only thing that matters is how much power you have. Barring 20-30% members of the parliament, rest are not competent enough to run the country. They become the member of the parliament because people in our country are not educated enough to demarcate the good from the bad. Votes are being sold because of the existence of so much poor population in our country. The biggest fraud in the history of Indian Politics is known to all- the auctioning of 2G spectrum which would have fetched around 20,000 crores more to the government coffers, but till now the person who is responsible, is the cabinet minster of our country.
So the solution to the problem is, our judicial system should be more potent and the Law minister should not be the one from the ruling party. Organizations like CBI (Central Bureau of Investigation) and Vigilant Department should be independent bodies and not under the influence of the government.
We need to empower ourselves with the technology. RTI act has been instrumental to some extent in keeping a check on this but this tool needs to be used more judiciously. Most of the people do not use it because of time constraints as it is a very lengthy process. India is being called the hub of Information technology so why not make the use of it as it would make our system more fast, transparent and efficient. All the information of the government offices should be available online like on what all they are spending the tax payer’s money. But the moot point is government is not willing to do this because then how would they run their back hand businesses and fill their pockets.
And last but not the least, we the youngsters should strive forward and take active participation in running our country. Why the management graduates tread the already beaten paths and not even think to take a step forward to manage their country. Educated people should take initiatives to make their way in politics and change the way it works.
